A list of publicly-funded physiotherapy locations can be found at Ontario.ca/physiotherapy. Alternatively, patients can contact their local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) at (905) 684-9441.
- Those who are 65 or older
- Those who are 19 or younger
- Those who are under Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program
- Inpatients who were recently discharged from an overnight stay at a hospital and are in need of physiotherapy services that are directly connected to the reason the person was admitted
- Long-term care residents over 18-years old

How soon after a break can i get physiotherapy?
The sooner you get into physiotherapy treatment after being cleared by your orthopedic surgeon, the better. The longer you wait, the more likely for further permanent damage to be done and the more difficult it is to break up scar tissue. Our general rule is, if you are out of your cast, then book an appointment. The physiotherapist needs to be able to touch the injury and help you move it in certain exercises. This may be painful for you, but your physiotherapist will show you ways to do these necessary exercises that will speed up your recovery and prevent any permanent damage with as little pain for you as possible. However, coming in for an assessment can be a way for us to let you know how best we can help you! Again, give us a call or stop by if you have any questions.
What is wsib and do i qualify for it?
WSIB stands for Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. It is the provincial coverage for accidents that happen at work. In order to qualify for coverage, the accident must be reported to your employer and a report filed as soon as possible. Once this is done, you must fill out a Form 6 which can be acquired from work or on the WSIB website. After WSIB has received the necessary documents and reviewed your case, they will either approve or deny it. If you receive approval, you will receive a claim number. This is important, as this is what the physiotherapists use to bill WSIB for your treatment. You are welcome to start treatment before a claim number is received, but if the claim is denied, then you are responsible to cover the cost of treatment.
Here at Montebello Physiotherapy, we do all that we can to help you with your WSIB claims as there can be a lot of paperwork! It can be overwhelming, but we want to make this experience easier for you, so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If your employer needs an FAF, Functional Abilities Form, to determine whether you are on modified shifts/duties, we are able to provide that and fax it to your employer. Your recovery is our priority and we look forward to helping with any questions/needs you may have.
If you have any questions, WSIB can help you out as well by calling their General Inquiry line at 1-800-387-0750.

What if i am in a motor vehicle accident?
We are licensed with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario to provide treatment to MVA injuries. Contact your insurance company and note down the name of your adjuster. We will need the name of your insurance company, adjuster and claim number. We will also ask if you have any extended health benefits. By law these must be accessed first.
We will assist you with the forms and paperwork and will submit the required forms for treatment at our facility.

What if i can't make my appointment?
We get it! Life happens and you cannot always control what happens. At Montebello Physiotherapy, we have a 4 hour cancellation policy. Please contact us and no cancellation will be charged. If your appointment is missed a $30 cancellation fee will be charged to your account.
What should i expect at my first physiotherapy appointment?
Here at Montebello Physiotherapy, we strive to give you the best, individually tailored care that we can. Getting you better and living pain-free is our biggest goal! During the initial assessment, you will meet with the physiotherapist in a private treatment room where they will ask a series of questions related to your health and the injury in order to create an individualized treatment program for you. It is helpful to bring any copies of MRI, ultrasound or x-ray results with you when you come.
Once the questions are done, the physiotherapist will then assess the injury manually. After these assessments are completed, they may then choose to ultrasound the injury, or create an individual exercise program to help you in your recovery. These exercises are done in our open gym area where we have weights, an exercise bike and other tools to assist in your recovery. The exercises given are ones that can be done at home and will be progressed as the injury starts to heal. These exercises are important in your recovery, so the best treatment is to follow the physiotherapist's guide on how many exercises to do per day. The physiotherapist will then let you know how often they think you should come in in order to treat your injury the most effectively. Each time you visit hereafter, the physiotherapist will continue to assess and monitor the injury, increasing the difficulty of the exercises as improvement comes.

Do you offer acupuncture at your clinic?
Yes we do offer acupuncture and it can be incorporated into your physiotherapy session.
How many appointments will i need?
At your first initial assessment your physiotherapist will access the problem and will discuss a treatment plan with you. Your progress will depend on a variety of factors and your physiotherapist will communicate with you along the way to make sure you are comfortable with the plan.
How soon can i get in?
We do our best to work around your schedule. If you have an open schedule, you can most likely get in the next day. However, if you need an early morning or late afternoon appointment, you may be waiting a couple of days because those are the most sought after appointments!
